Origin Escape Games is a new small business that came to Marion Virginia and opened for business on January 04. Marion resident Jacob Jackson opened Smyth County’s first escape room.

The owner Jacob Jackson had the idea for the escape rooms after experiencing many himself and convinced his parents, Dewey and Katey Jackson, to join him in the venture. They became escape room enthusiasts, he said, after experiencing one with him in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

Growing up in Marion, Virginia Jacob didn't have many great sources of entertainment in his small town. So when he experienced his first escape room experience he knew what he wanted to do. And that's how the Origin Escape Game originated.

Origin escape game rooms are for people who are always looking for some sort of adventure. The escape rooms are for all ages – a scary adventurous one for those 16 and older and a family-friendly one for all ages. The whole experience of Origin Escape is geared toward team-building opportunities. If you want to escape working together is extremely important.
